When Charlotte gave the envelope containing her letter to her dad to mail, she accidentally sent a grocery list and got every item on it from Santa on Christmas. Summary of Professional Reviews: As said by Kirkus Reviews, this book is a new twist on a Christmas plot. The pleasure of this book is shown through the watercolored illustrations. There is a coziness of this book that is represented by the small children in the house and the holiday being shared by family. A nice addition to a holiday collection of books. |
Review by Ashley: This book is an adorable depiction of a little girl writing to Santa before she can even read what she is writing. The plot gives a struggle that many children go through when writing to Santa Claus. The illustrations really compliment the holiday cozy feeling of the book. The format of the pages showing the letters that Charlotte writes allows children to actually read them. This book would be useful when teaching... A Letter to Santa Claus would be an interesting book to read during the holidays to introduce writing letters to Santa. Some children may not celebrate Christmas, but they could simply write a letter to anyone instead of directly to Santa. Children who are beginning to read can help read the letters that Charlotte wrote. |
