Genre: Realistic Fiction, Humor
Summary: This happy book is all about loving every part of a baby. Through the story, you see the baby's little toes, plump belly, little ears, and dancing legs. The book has a catchy rhythm that will be sure to be a favorite to read to your little ones.
Professional Review: This Kirkus Starred Reviewed book is loved by all. It was said that parents and grandparents will "eat it up," as well as enjoy it for story time or cuddling up together. Kirkus said, "This intuitive picture book exposes children to the beauty of language, their bodies and a communal expression of love."
My Review: This is probably the most delightful book I have read in a while. It is so catchy and sweet that it makes me fall in love with the text. It would be great to read while snuggled up on the couch with a toddler or to young children during story time. The author was very warm and playful when writing the book, any toddler (or adult) would love it for sure. She probably wanted the reader(s) to feel excited and playful when reading this piece of literature. The pictures complimented the text perfectly.
How to Use in the classroom: I would probably use this book before nap time during a daycare or preschool day. It is directed towards a younger audience (no older than 3 or 4). Children will like it's rhymes and will participate in the catchy chorus.
