Summary of Professional Reviews: Hornbook gave this book a rating of 1. They enjoyed the simple words and phrases on each page and the colors of the illustrations. They also thought the book was "Accurate, timely, and appropriate for the youngest dinosaur fan."
Review by Kitty Anthony: I thought this book was fairly accurate on the correct steps it takes to get a dinosaur bone from the ground to the correct place on the skeleton in a museum. The author used simple words to tell this story and the simply drawn yet colorful illustrations help enhance the readers experience.
This book would be useful when teaching…
This book could be useful when first introducing dinosaurs to students. Even if they already know what they are, they probably do not know the process which paleontologists go through in order to get these fossils and what they have to do to them. They could also act out this process in a dramatization to show their understanding or put their own twist on these steps. It also introduces the students to different kinds of dinosaurs and that could be incorporated into some type of science lesson.
