Review by Kitty Anthony: The book starts with the mischievous letter "a" climbing up a coconut tree. Soon all the other letters in the alphabet join their friend and climb up the tree. With all those letters in the tree it is only a matter of time until they all fall out and get injured. The author uses delightful rhymes and repetition that makes this book easy to follow along with, read, and memorize. The eye catching colors make every page of this book attention grabbing and appealing to young children who are just learning their letters.
This book would be useful when teaching…
This book would be great to use with children who are just learning to recognize letters and letter sounds. The teacher could have the children state which letter is on the page and identify the difference between upper and lower case letters. The students could also use their imaginations and make up other injuries that could have occurred when all the letters fell out!
