Professional Review: This book received a HORN Book Rating of 3. It was aid that "the rich acrylics add humor to Chico's simple, satisfying tale of bravery." It was applauded for it's humor and how it will win kids over with it's satisfying humor. The reviewers also enjoyed the vibrant pictures.
My Review: this book has a very happy and unexpected ending. The author did a fabulous job is telling the tale of Chico and how courageous he was to fix his problem. I think the author wanted the reader to see that it is great o be courageous and face your fears. I enjoyed the humor in the book. The pictures were very bright and colorful, adding to the storyline.
How to Use in the classroom: I would use this book in my classroom as a read a loud for the class. I would want the students to think of a time they were courageous and write a story how they may have been a hero, helped someone, or faced a fear of their own. It would allow for individually different papers and students will be able to share events that happened to themselves with their teacher and friends.
