Year of Publication: 2004
Genre: Comedy and Humor
Horn Book or Kirkus Reviews rating: Horn Book: 3
Summary:
This book is about different idioms that have to do with your body parts and the boy gets ready for school. At the end of the book the boys does not want to leave any parts behind because he has so much on his mind.
Summary of Professional Reviews:
As Kirkus Reviews says that this book has bright illustrations and they can be delightfully bizarre. All of the added pictures of different figures with speech bubbles can make children laugh as well as the bigger pictures. Sheila Fox says that this will be an enjoyable book for many different grade levels. It would be a good book to start introducing idioms to children and allowing them to make a possible artwork with their own silly idiom that can be displayed.
Review by Ashley:
This funny rhyming book includes figures of speech also associated with body parts. The pictures with each idiom will make children laugh as they enjoy reading about things that do not actually happen to the body. On every page with each idiom is a few other pictures that relate to that body part. This colorful, interesting, and humorous book will keep children laughing.
This book would be useful when teaching...
Even More Parts would be a great book for teachers to let children know about their different body parts and if the things in the book could really happen. Children will get laughs with the ridiculous illustrations and idioms presented.
