Author and Illustrator: Jane Yolen and Mark Teague
Publisher: Scholastic Inc. Year of Publication: 2007 Genre: Fiction Horn Book Review: 2 Summary: The book starts off with questions about what the dinosaur might do at school, getting the children to think about what could happen if dinosaurs went to school. The book then ends with what really happens, showing that dinosaurs are actually good. Summary of Professional Reviews: The reviewers first discuss what was learned in previous book written by these authors and then go into detail about what could be learned in this book. At the end of the book, it discusses how children should act in school, rather than the examples throughout the entire book. The illustrations also provide an idea of how crazy the dinosaurs can be. |
Review by Sarah Custard: I think this book is very good to help children decide what is good and bad. This book begins with questions and this could help children decide what they should or should not be doing, and it could also help the teacher with rules for the classroom. The illustrations can help the students better understand what is happening in the story and also make the book more comical.
This book could be useful for teachers in the beginning of the school year when they are trying to tell the children what is important in school. It could help the teachers and students come up with rules for the classroom: what they think is good, what they think is bad, and what they think that should/should not be doing in the classroom. The book could also be used to help children come up with questions about everything as well, or help the teachers with a rhyming lesson. |
