This book goes through a series of poems and each poem is about a different type of rock. Each poem gives a description of the rock and what you can do with that type of rock.
Summary of Professional Reviews:
This is a great book for children because they always want to play with rocks. The photos of the children with the rocks will appeal to the students because they will think of a time where they saw a rock like that and what they did with that type of rock.
Review by Anthony Germani:
The author describes each rock by saying what children do with that type of rock. This format engages the students because they have seen all of these rocks before and have done the things that this book talks about. This book will also inspire young children to go outside and explore nature. They will want to find all of the rocks that were talked about in the book and want to do everything that the book says to do with them.
This book would be useful when teaching
A teacher could use this book when introducing a science lesson about rocks. A project teachers can have their students do is take pictures of all of the rocks that are mentioned in the book and place them on a poster board. This would be an excellent project because the students will be excited to find all of the rocks that are in the book. T
