Review by Madie Henderson: The saying, "a picture says a thousand words" was portrayed throughout this book. I really liked how Becker used the color red and purple to symbolize different adventures she created in this new world. I also liked how this book made me use my imagination and think of how the girl felt when she was ignore and her reactions when she was exploring.
This book would be useful when teaching… This book would be great for beginner students. Teacher could show students the pictures and have them express their feeling or predictions of what the girl may see next. Then as a follow up activity have the students draw their own pictures about their journeys.
