Summary: In his big red barn, the sheep is trying to sleep, but keeps getting woken up by his barnyard friends. After each one arrives, the sheep convinces them to go to sleep and they all end up getting a good nights sleep, especially the sheep.
Summary of Horn Book Review: With Beaumont's repetitive and rhyming text paired with the water colored illustrations created by Urbanovic the book is very lively, yet perfect for a read before bed. It is the perfect book to get the kids to calm down while also making them sleepy.
Review by Terese Wylie: Beaumont's repetitive and rhyming story about a sheep that keeps being woken up by his fellow barnyard animals is brought to life through Urbanovic's comical artistry. The story will turn interactive with any young reader/listener and despite it's upbeat and semi-energetic text the story is perfect for before bed.
No Sleep For The Sheep! can be the perfect book to read before a quite time in the classroom, but also as an interactive book. With the places that the other animals speak to the sheep, the students can read their parts. The book could then even be adapted into a small group activity. The students can turn the text into skits and therefore adapting the the text and working together.
