Review by Alicia Watson: Pezzettino is a colorful, uplifting story about a little orange square who was determined to find out where he belonged. After asking several creatures if he belongs to them, they answer was always the same, "NO." He later finds that he is his own creature the whole time. Lionni's use of bright colors helps portray bright mood throughout the story. He helps portray the flow of the adventure from page to page with his use of crayon illustrations and repetition within the written text. The written text helps to keep the audience asking the question, "What will happen next?"
