Marilyn Courtot says that it is a distinctive collage artwork used to create a snow family using familiar materials from around the house.
Review by Katie: Ehlert uses a simple yet unique style to create a snow family out of all kinds of simple items that one would have around their home. Each member of the family has a different yet unique style or pattern that makes them different from each other, and of course their size difference to specify each family member. There are great ideas for children and it can make anyone's imagination go wild.
Snowballs can be useful when teaching a lesson about weather in the winter. It is informational about shapes and sizes.
