The Horn Book review states that "Lionni has illustrated his clever story with a series of astonishingly beautiful seascapes full of undulating watery nuances of shape, pattern, and color." This book has also received a Caldecott Honor Book award. This book beautifully describes how working together and being in a group can help keep us save and overcome our fears. The pictures are clear, vibrant, and show us a lot of details making it as though you are looking underwater. This book would be a great read for young children to show that everyone has fears, and that is okay, but we can work together to help overcome these fears. |
This book would be useful when teaching children about what fears we have and coming up with solutions on how to overcome them. We can also use this book to teach about different sea creatures found in the ocean along with what other plants are found underwater.
