Summary of Professional Reviews: Hornbook gave this book a review of 1. They really enjoyed that the illustrations filled up the entire page and were filled with color and detail. They think the illustrations will capture young readers. They also think the text is, "powerful, poetic, and good for reading aloud and reading again." Review by Kitty Anthony: The illustrations in this book are colorful, vivid and beautifully depict the spirals that would be found in nature. The text is large and simple enough for young readers to understand and descriptive enough for the readers to understand everything that a spiral could be. The illustrations take up the whole page and move fluently throughout the two pages. I also like that the pictures of animals and plants are labeled so that students know what plants and animals are what. This book would be useful when teaching… This book would be great for teaching a science lesson. The teacher could read this book to the class and then take the students outside on a nature walk to see if they can find any spirals or anything they may have seen in the book. They can then share their findings with the class and make some sort of poster to be displayed in the classroom. |
