Review by Jessica Rodriguez: I found this version of the mitten to be very detailed with descriptive language. The story gives a little background knowledge on the little boy, and then follows up with the story of the mitten and what happens to the mitten. Also, the author did an excellent job with creating a predictable text for young children to guess what might happen next in the story. Overall, I found this story to be enjoyable and an interesting read. This book would be useful when teaching… - To teach young children about what could have when you lose something. For example, if you lost your hat outside this could happen to your hat, where animals use it for warmth in the cold months. - Also, this would be a good book to use when teaching young children about sequence of events, and following along to recall all the events in order for comprehension of the story. - Ideal for K through 3rd grade.
