Review by Samantha Formato: This book has wonderful illustrations along with a good story to back it up. The ending catches you off guard and makes the story a loveable one with Jack the Cat becoming a mother to the baby duck, goose, and chicken in the end. This book is simple, but a great read for beginner readers. It will keep children intrigued with its simple yet comical story.
This book would be useful when teaching… This book is a great book to read to children. It is fun and has great illustrations
so it will keep them engaged. This book would be useful when teaching if you were to use it in an elementary classroom. As a teacher you could teach about animals and the different types of animals that lay eggs. You could also talk about the differences between a duck, goose, and chicken.
