Summary of Professional Reviews:
The three little wolves are sent out into the world by there mother and they build a house out of brick until the big bad pig comes along knocks it down with a sledgehammer. This happens with the houses that the wolves make out of cement, and barbed wire. Finaly the wolves make a house out of flowers and the pig turns into their friend and moves in with them. This is an unlikely conflict with an unlikely solution.
Review by Anthony Germani:
I thought that this book was great because it teaches children that even if we do not get along with everyone in our class we still have something in common with them that will make us friends. The only thing that I would question about the book is the way that the pig knocks down the houses down. He uses a sledgehammer and one time he even uses dynamite. There is repetition in the way that the pig wants to blow the houses down and the way that the wolves answer him.
This book would be useful when teaching:
This would be a great book after reading the original three little pigs story to students and have them come up with their own version of the story. This would really get the students thinking creatively and would really encourage them to use their imaginations. This would be great for a creative writing lesson for young children.
