Review by Jessica Rodriguez: I found this story to be very fun and enjoyable to the reader. When I first read the story, I would laugh here and there and was not expecting the ending for the reader to shake the book to make everything reappear. Byrne simple text and illustrations make it easy for young children to read and predict what might happen next. Overall, this simple story is enjoyable for the reader, and encourages the reader to think about what is going to happen next, and where did everything go.
This book would be useful when teaching…
- This would be helpful for teaching young children about making predictions and question what is happening in the story.
- Also, it can encourage book knowledge on how when the dog is walking across the page once he gets to the spine of the book he starts disappearing. And towards the end of the story when everything comes back but now completely right, young children should be able to identify and point out the mix up.
- Ideal for PreK through 1st grade.
