The pages are all amazingly connected and this makes the book even more enjoyable. The layout of the book matches the storyline perfectly. The word choice is simple but appealing and educational. Even though the book has amazing illustrations it also has a wonderful moral. It teaches a reader about the stages of life and how we must eventually grow up to be someone beautiful inside and out. This interactive picture book is an amazing story with even greater illustrations that is bound to catch a child’s eye know matter the age.

- The Very Hungry Caterpillar can be used when teaching children about the days of the week in the beginning of the year. This book is extremely educational for a child who is just starting to read. It offers a lot of information about multiple things in a caterpillars life. A teacher can introduce this book early in the year in a Language Arts lesson. The teacher can first read the book to the students on the read aloud carpet then he/se can have the students reenact the book using puppets or something the students have created themselves. Doing this will allow children to see not only the life cycle of a butterfly but it will also teach them the importance of reading.
